PORTLAND, Ore. -- To help fight hunger this holiday season, Wells Fargo is donating $50,000 to the Oregon Food Bank.
This money allows the food bank to secure and distribute enough food for 150,000 meals for families experiencing food insecurity in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Oregon State University estimates that nearly one in four Oregonians are food insecure.
“Our community is currently experiencing rates of hunger that haven’t been seen in a century,” shared Susannah Morgan, Oregon Food Bank CEO. “At Oregon Food Bank, we believe no one should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying for housing, for example."
This donation is part of Wells Fargo's "Many hearts. One community." holiday effort to provide 82 million meals to families in need.
