WESTERN Ore.--- This weekend is seeing much needed rain. The last significant rain event in the area was in the beginning of June.
Overnight Friday into Saturday, Eugene and Springfield picked up about .5" to .75" of rain. Across the coast, that number was around 1 to 1.5 inches.
There's a strong possibility of an isolated thunderstorm Saturday afternoon with scattered showers in western Oregon.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated from late Saturday night into Sunday. Areas are expected to see .5" to 1" of rain.
The coast and cascades are expected to see the most rainfall, due to favorable orography.
Eugene's last heavy rainfall was on June 13th, where there was .59" of rainfall.
