EUGENE, Ore. – Opponents of a proposed WinCo for northeast Eugene have lost another round, but they’re not done fighting.

The store, if approved, would be built at the site of the former Shopko on Coburg Road.

A lawyer for Living Strong, a company that owns the McKenzie apartment complex nearby says briefs are due Wednesday at the Oregon Court of Appeals.

The company and a separate group of neighbors object to the City of Eugene’s decision to allow the WinCo to open at that location. However, on April 30, the Land Use Board of Appeals sided with the city.

Oral arguments at the Court of Appeals are scheduled for July 6.
