Winston-Dillard School District investigates possible threat

Winston police will have an increased presence in the school district during the investigation.

WINSTON, Ore. – Late Wednesday night the Winston Police Department received a report of a possible threat made towards Winston Middle School and Douglas High School.

Police contacted the person accused of making the threat and began conducting an investigation. Police were unable to substantiate that a threat had been made, but told the person accused to stay away from all Winston-Dillard School District campuses pending the outcome of its investigation.

Winston police will have an increased presence in the school district during the investigation.

A post on the school district’s Facebook page said the district implemented a response outlined in its Crisis Management Plan. The district’s main concern is protecting the safety of students and staff, the post said.
