Woman, 75, assaulted at Eugene downtown library

Police said the man who injured her was last seen walking east on West 10th Avenue following the assault.

EUGENE, Ore. – A 75-year-old woman was assaulted at the Eugene Downtown Public Library on Sept. 17, police say.

The incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. when the woman was trying to return a library book.

Police said the man who injured her was last seen walking east on West 10th Avenue following the assault.

The suspect, who was captured on video, is described as white, about 30 or 40 years old, and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray colored hooded jacket, tan shorts, and a black ball cap. Police said he appears to have a tattoo or marking on the side of his left calf.
