EUGENE, Ore. -- A woman was arrested Thursday morning in Eugene after allegedly running a red light, causing a three vehicle crash, and shooting a firearm.

According to the Eugene Police Department, Lane County Sheriff's deputies responded to West 7th Avenue and Charnelton Street in Eugene at 3:49 a.m. after Alyvia Hudson, 23, reportedly ran a red light and hit the other cars.

After deputies arrived, Hudson allegedly fired a shot from inside her car. Deputies retreated and called officers for backup. Hudson fired another shot shortly after Eugene police arrived on the scene.

An investigation found that one of the rounds was fired out of the SUV's window in the direction of surrounding buildings and passing traffic, and a second round went through the floor of her vehicle.

Police said it did not appear that Hudson was firing at first responders.

Officials were able to arrest Hudson after waiting for her to come out of her car.

Hudson is facing multiple charges, including unlawful use of a weapon, reckless driving and recklessly endangering.

The driver of the car Hudson allegedly hit was checked by medics as a precaution. Hudson was uninjured.
