COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- The South Lane Fire and Rescue Board of Directors sided with embattled fire chief John Wooten and reinstated him as head of the district.
In a contentious meeting, the board voted 3-2 in favor of reinstating Wooten without any disciplinary actions.

This decision by the board led to Board Vice President Jennifer Radcliffe to resign her position effective immediately. She voted against reinstating Chief Wooten.
