Wreck on Hwy. 126 closes highway, injures 3

Lt. Miller says one of their patients was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

UPDATE: Both lanes of Highway 126 are now open. 


NEAR WALTON, Ore. -- A car crashed into tree on Highway 126 near Walton, injuring three people.

The Highway is shut down at mile post 33. ODOT is asking drivers to take alternate routes.

Lt. Tressa Miller, with Lane Fire Authority, said they were called out to the crash at about 8:45 Monday night. She said the car crashed into a tree on the highway.

She said three people were injured; one of them was ejected from the car. 

Lt. Miller said one of their patients was taken to the hospital by helicopter. 

She wants to remind drivers to slow down, pay attention to the road and to wear their seatbelts.
