Eugene, Ore. – A pair of home runs from Beau Philip and a solo shot from Adley Rutschman was all Oregon State baseball needed to defeat West Virginia in the second game of the three-game series, 4-2.

Philip hit a solo home run in the second was followed by a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Rutschman added the extra solo home run in the sixth.

However, it was defensively where the Beavers shined. Philip and Zak Taylor had great plays in the infield. OSU has only committed four errors in their ten games this season.

"We knew hitting wise that we had some development to do and we still do," head coach Pat Bailey said. "One thing you can control, that's pitching and defense and our pitching and defense is the number one reason we are 10-0."

Bryce Fehmel earned his second win of the season after going 6.0 innings allowing two runs on four hits.

The Beavers will look to sweep the Mountaineers in game three of the series at 1:05 P.M. on Sunday at Goss Stadium.

Oregon baseball used a stellar pitching performance from Cole Stringer to take down Loyola Marymount, 6-0.

Stringer threw 6.1 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits in the victory.

The Ducks also got off to a great start after Spencer Steer homered in the first, giving Oregon the lead. Steer hit a two-run homer in the seventh.

"My teammates have been giving me a really hard time because I haven't had an extra base hit this year." Steer said. "It's funny how that worked out. They were saying that before the game. I'm glad I was able to shut them up with those two home runs."

Oregon is 6-2 and will look to sweep LMU at 2 P.M. on Sunday at PK Park.
