Eugene, OR -- Oregon football had success running the ball late last fall with their young backfield, but struggled majority of the year. According to offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo, the Ducks plan to continue to run the pistol formation with some new tweaks to the offense.

In previous seasons, the running game opened up the offense for Oregon as the focal point of their attack. In comparison the Ducks averaged 179.4 rushing yards last season, down about 70 yards from the 2017-18 season. Heading in to the second year with the offense, Arroyo believes the backs are getting more adjusted to playing in the pistol. "Very comfortable, you know second, well all the coaches. Coach Maestro coming in, being our second year with us. You know we grew upon him and he grew upon us and we're taking the challenge he's giving us" says sophomore, Darrian Felix.

The Ducks started to impliment some changes to running game towards the end of last year. Now, they'll work during the spring to continue to tweak those plays.

"We'll probably mix it up. I think you saw us mix it up a little bit at the end of the season. We saw some of our off set runs in there, which were nice. Some of our tempo plays, finding out where our backs can handle that far back stuff and things like that," said Marcus Arroyo, "I think that's going to be pretty multiple. I think it'll be a good blend you know."

Oregon plays their annual Spring Game scrimmage on April 20th at Autzen Stadium.
