CORVALLIS – A 3-point barrage lifted No. 22 Oregon State to an 88-48 victory over Arizona Sunday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.

"This was a really strong effort," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "We knew we were going to get a great effort from Arizona. We did a really nice job of moving the ball today, and the threes were falling for us. I thought we were gritty defensively, and we dominated the boards. Overall it was another great day in Gill."

The Beavers knocked down 16 longballs in the contest, shooting 59.3 percent from beyond the arc and 55.9 percent overall in the game. Sophomore Kat Tudor led the way, going 6-for-8 from long range to end the afternoon with 18 points.

Marie Gulich continued her stellar senior season, going 4-for-5 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the stripe to finish with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Freshman Taya Corosdale tallied 13 points and six rebounds, while sophomore Mikayla Pivec narrowly missed a triple-double, with 10 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Freshman Aleah Goodman hit all three of her 3-point attempts to record nine points. Juniors Joanna Grymek and Taylor Kalmer finished with nine points apiece.

As a team, the Beavers held the Wildcats to 28 percent shooting from the floor, and dominated the glass, holding a 49-22 advantage in rebounds.

Oregon State scored eight unanswered points early in the first quarter, to jump out to an 11-4 lead. Arizona answered with a 9-0 run to level the score at 15 at the end of the opening period.

The Wildcats took the lead early in the second quarter, but the Beavers responded by clamping down defensively in the final five minutes of the frame. Oregon State held Arizona without a field goal for a stretch of over six minutes, converting the strong defense into a 10-0 run to head to the intermission up 38-27.

OSU picked up right where it left off in the second half, using a 7-0 run to extend the advantage to 20. The Beavers cruised from there, out-scoring Arizona 50-21 in the second half to take the win by 40.

The Beavers will host Oregon on Friday in the first of back-to-back Civil War matchups. The game is slated to tip off at 8 p.m. and will air live on Pac-12 Networks.
