CORVALLIS, Ore. -- When Wade Meckler stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning, he knew he had to find a way to get on base.

His single to left field did the trick. Ryan Ober scored from third base. Oregon State took a 1-0 lead.

Relief pitcher Jake Mulholland took the mound in the ninth inning. He earned his third save of the season.

Kevin Abel and Reid Sebby combined with Mulholland to hold BYU to just one hit, a sixth-inning double. The trio struck out 10 batters. Sebby picked up the win to improve to 2-0 this season.

#19 Oregon State is now 8-1 on the season. The Beavers continue their three-game series with BYU on Friday at Goss Stadium. First pitch is slated for 5:35 p.m.
