Eugene, Ore. -- The Sheldon Irish were picked 4th in the preseason poll, but for the team to play in the state championship game again it'll have to protect it's quarterback Griffin Line. Luckily they've got a pair of bruisers on the offensive line in twins, Seth and Max Meier.

"When we were little it just kind of looked fun. Just kind of got into it and never really put it down ," said Max.

Seth added, "We've always kind of been playing every single sport that our friends played since we grew up. So this is just one of them that we picked up."

The twins have been playing football since they were in the 3rd grade. Despite liking the physicality and competitiveness of the sport, it was spending time with their friends that kept drawing them back.

"You don't get the camaraderie from playing anything other than football like you do out here," said Seth. "You meet a lot more people playing football out here than if you just did your regular schooling over there."

Unlike most brothers, the seniors don't typically bump heads. But when they do, they prefer to handle it on the field.

Seth said, "If we have something wrong we usually get it out, out here. So at home it's pretty calm."

Regardless of playing on the line with their own flesh and blood, the twins see all of their teammates as family.

"It's honestly not that much different from anyone else on our line," said Max. "We all trust each other, we all put in the same amount of work as anyone else. There's not really a difference between looking down the line to my right or my left."

The Sheldon Irish are a band of brothers, and while they'll rely on Line's arm to lead, but he'll need the twins to be his protectors.
