brenton richmond is facing charges it's now been nearly a month since the deadly office?involved shooting at cascade middle school where charles landeros died. the district attorney's offcice said the shooting was justified. and now the eugene police department is set to begin an internal review of what happened. kezi 9 news reporter jessica babb explains what that means and spoke with landero's former sot: i feel like it is just dragging this horrible, horrible thing on. shayla landeros was at cascade middle school nearly a month ago when her ex husband? charles landeros? was shot and killed by eugene police. now... she says it's time for the community to move on. quick bite from shayla she says the internal review set to begin by eugene police doesn't help. that review? will essentially help police determine if the officer's actions were in line with the department's policies. back on january 11? officers steve timm and aaron johns responded when they learned of a custody dispute happening at the school. right now? one officer is no longer on leave and the other is currently on leave? for a reason unrelated to the shooting. bridge: eugene police told me that the internal review into what happened at cascade middle school may not even begin for another six weeks. there's a push from some community members to designate the case as a community impact case. phoner: police auditor: sot: it essentially means that the chief doesn't make final decisions until the civilian review board has a chance to weigh in on it but shayla says that's not necessary. she also says that push could be coming from the civil liberties defense center. sot: the cldc from the beginning has just been pushing to make this a bigger issue. none of them were there, none of them saw what happened, none of them know what happened and i just feel like thhey are trying to push this to further their political agenda. shortly after the incident? the clcd took to facebook saying the incident was racially motivatedd. since the district attorney said the case was justified? we've been reaching out to the cldc for commen? but so far they're not talking sot:
