says, "live local late breaking, this is kezi 9 news at 5, with matt templeman, renee mccullough and chief meteorologist marisa woloszyn." douglas county is honoring two dozen forgotten veterans -- with special services this week. their unclaimed ashes have been sitting in a roseburg funeral home for years. on kezi 9 news at 4 we told you four world war one veterans were laid to rest this afternoon.. michael sevren joins us live to show us why one woman, plans to be there for all the services. matt renee, these veterans are being laid to rest here at the national cemetery in roseburg near the va's campus. and one woman tells me she plans to honor all of these forgotten heroes. all 28 forgotten veterans are being laid to rest this week with full military honors including a rifle volley and a flag folding presentation. their ashes went unclaimed at a local funeral home, some for over 40 years. officials with the douglas county veterans forum have been trying to track down their families and relatives, but haven't had much luck. jo ann chitwood tells me her husband served in vietnam and says even though she doesn't know these veterans, she plans to be at all of the services to honor them. sot: jo ann chitwood/ attended service for unclaimed veterans my heart just goes out to them when they don't have family or someone to be with them and when we do our military services and stuff i just feel it's so important to honor them at this time tomorrow 11 soldiers who fought in world war 2 and korea will be laid to rest. a third service will be held on thursday for 13 others. the services start at 1:00 pm and are open to the public. while little is know about many of these veterans coming up at 6 -- i'll shows what i've learned about one of them who was honored today. live in roseburg i'm michael
