hours to complete the process. a fire at the lebanon walmart that forced employees and customers to evacuate.. is still under investigation tonight. kezi 9 news reporter tyler jones spoke with residents who showed up at that walmart.. only to find the parking lot blocked off. tyler is live in the studio to show us what they had to say. tyler? chynna.. while i was at that walmart.. residents kept driving up.. only to be turned away because they couldn't go inside the store. some residents i spoke to.. say they aren't exactly shocked that this happened in lebanon. fire officials say when they got the call for that fire around 12:45 this afternoon.. they knew that pool chemicals were on fire. officials say they didn't know exactly what caught fire.. so they called in the regional hazmat team just in case. nearby businesses had to shut down.. and their employees evacuated from the area because of the toxic fumes in the air. but when officials opened up the area around walmart.. people began showing up.. hoping they could get in.. only to find out that wasn't possible. "i was just coming here to get groceries. just grab a couple things for spaghetti and we were heading home. i just got off work. so, yeah. i did not expect to see this. i had no clue what was going on until we pulled up and saw the fire department here and then saw you guys. so, we knew something was going on." fire officials say the building was full of smoke and the floors were covered in water. fire investigators and restoration crews were inside the walmart for several hours after the fire was put out. the cause of that fire is still under investigation.. and there's no word yet on when that walmart will reopen. if you have any information about this incident.. you are asked to call the lebanon fire district or lebanon police department. live in the
