Pet of the Week: Dean

EUGENE, Ore. – Dean is a young dog looking for a home with a yard where he can run and play.

He will thrive in an active family willing to make sure he gets plenty of daily exercise and training. He loves to chase tennis balls.

Dean should go to a family with children old enough to handle his energy level. Volunteers describe him as sweet and affectionate. He is a busy young dog, and won’t be content being left alone for long periods of time.

He seems to like other dogs and may do ok with a canine friend, but will need to meet any potential doggie pals at the shelter prior to adoption.

Dean is just over 1½ years old and weighs nearly 70 pounds. His fee is $200, which will help pay for shelter expenses such as spaying and neutering, vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.

Dean was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.

If you are interested in Dean or the other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, more information is available here. A video of Dean can be watched here.

Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.
