Pet of the Week: Ruben

EUGENE, Ore. – Ruben is a 6-year-old dog who loves people and needs a home where he will get daily walks and lots of outdoor playtime.

Ruben can go to a home with older children. He has lived successfully with cats in the past, but he should be the only dog in the household.

Ruben walks well on a leash and shelter staff members love the way he does a small jump before planting himself into a sit. He also likes to catch treats in the air.

He is an American Staffordshire/Weimaraner mix and has a genetic condition that has caused him to lose some of his fur.

He is 6 years 7 months old and his fee is $150. This fee helps pay for shelter expenses such as spaying and neutering, vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.

Ruben was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
