Crews rescue victim after cardiac arrest report on Willamette River

EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a reported cardiac arrest on an island in the middle of the Willamette River Monday afternoon.

The island was located 300 yards down stream from Maurie Jacobs Park.

Fire crews used their water rescue boat to transport the victim while performing CPR to reach a waiting ambulance for advanced life support.

Eugene Springfield Fire was assisted by Eugene Police and Lane County Sheriff's Office
