EUGENE, Ore. – Several hundred students at Sheldon High School participated in a walkout this morning over the Supreme Court leak that suggests the justices will overturn Roe v. Wade.
The walkout started Thursday morning at about 11:30 a.m. and lasted a little over an hour. The students marched in a loop from the Sheldon Pool area, along Coburg Road, down Cal Young Road and then back to the school along Willakenzie Drive.

Students Reya Burke and Lucy Fromm started organizing the walkout with a group of their friends last Thursday. They made around 50 signs to pass out and many attendees made their own.

“It's healthcare, it's basic needs. Like people of all ages, all groups, like everyone. All women will need an abortion maybe, at some point,” Burke said. “Whether they have children or don't, or are raped, there are so many reasons why people need abortions.”
