...ANOTHER WINTER STORM TO BRING HEAVY SNOW TO THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND OREGON CASCADES LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY... .The incoming Pacific weather system and associated cold front will move onshore today, bringing heavy mountain snow. This will be followed by a prolonged period of moist onshore flow and lowering snow levels that will result in heavy snow accumulations across most of the Cascades in southern Washington and central and northern Oregon through Saturday morning. ...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 10 AM PST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 15 to 30 inches, with the heaviest accumulations expected above 3000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph are also likely at higher elevations.

* WHERE...Cascades in Lane County.

* WHEN...From noon today to 10 AM PST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Expect poor winter driving conditions with snow and ice covered roads and low visibility. Travel is expected to be difficult. The combination of heavy snow and strong winds could also result in damage to trees and powerlines.
